1.  Malayalam film actor-producer Augustine dies in Kozhikode at 56

i. In Kerala, Malayalam film actor- producer Augustine died at a private hospital in Kozhikode this morning.
ii. He was 56. Augustine, who acted in over 100 films, portrayed several characters that remain etched in the memory of film buffs.
iii. His major films include Devasuram, Sadayam, Aaram Thampuran, Nandanam, Indian Rupee, Shutter among others.


2.  Easy wins for Indian teams at Kabaddi World Cup

i. Indian men registered their second win of the 2013 Kabaddi World Cup as they breezed past Spain in their group match while women's team defeated Kenya in an easy encounter in Hoshiarpur on Tuesday.
ii. India beat Spain 55-27 in their Pool A match at the Lajwanti Stadium.
iii. The Indian eves overwhelmed Kenya 56-21 to bag their second win in as many matches. The men's team will now take on Kenya on December 5 while their female counterparts will face United States on December 7.
iv. The fourth edition was inaugurated by Punjab Education Minister Sikander Singh Maluka at outdoor stadium Hoshiarpur and was introduced to the players of all the participating teams.


3.  Maxwell plays another blinder, leads Punjab to stunning win 

i. Glenn Maxwell played a whirlwind knock of 89 runs before David Miller provided the finishing touches with a breathtaking 19-ball 51 as Kings XI Punjab hammered Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets in a high-scoring IPL Twenty20 cricket match,in Sharjah on Sunday.
ii. Chasing an imposing 192 to win, Maxwell and Miller put on display an incredible power-hitting show as Punjab overhauled the target with eight balls to spare.
iii. Young batsman Sanju Samson (52) hit a classy half-century and Shane Watson (50) played a captain's knock to guide Rajasthan Royals to 191 for five after being put into bat but their effort proved little.
iv. Miller hit four sixes off the paceman Dhawal Kulkarni as Punjab creamed off 27 runs in the 18th over. It was all over for Rajasthan in that over.

4.  Ashwin becomes number-one ranked Test all-rounder

i. India's Ravichandran Ashwin has jumped to the numero uno position in the Reliance ICC Player Rankings for Test all-rounders by virtue of his stellar show in the first cricket Test against the West Indies at Kolkata.
ii. Ashwin scored 124, his second Test century, and also recorded match figures of 40-11-98-5 to help India register an emphatic innings and 51-run victory over West Indies with more than two days to spare.
iii. The performance at Kolkata not only improved Ashwin's batting and bowling rankings, but also helped him to leapfrog Shakib Al Hasan and Jacques Kallis into the number-one spot in the all-rounders' list.
iv. In the Reliance ICC Player Rankings for Test batsmen, Ashwin has moved up 18 places to the 45th position, while in the Reliance ICC Player Rankings for Test bowlers, the 27-year-old off-spinner has gained two places and is now sitting in sixth position.
v. Sharma, who became the 14th Indian batsman to score a century on debut when he struck 177, lies in the 63rd spot in the Reliance ICC Player Rankings for Test batsmen, while Shami's figures of nine for 118 the most by an Indian fast bowler on debut has helped him enter in the 53rd place in Test bowlers chart.
