1.  Paras Ajmera resigned from MCX Board

i. Paras Ajmera, Director of Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX) resigned from the board on 12 November 2013.
ii. Paras Ajmera is a nominee of promoter Financial Technologies India Ltd (FTIL) to the board of directors of Multi Commodity Exchange of India Ltd (MCX).
iii. MCX on 13 November 2013 informed the BSE that FTIL had withdrawn the nomination of Paras Ajmera, a shareholder director, from the board with effect from 12 November 2013, consequent to his resignation from the MCX Board.


2.  President releases stamp on INS Vikramaditya

i. President Pranab Mukherjee Wednesday released a postal stamp and First Day cover on INS Vikramaditya, the aircraft carrier that was commissioned in the Navy last month.
ii. INS Vikramaditya, the Indian Navy's latest, largest and most powerful aircraft carrier, was commissioned on Nov 16 in Russia. The warship is on its way to India from Russia.


3.  Shaik Abdul Hameed won the 2014 Thailand Tour title of Asian Bowling Federation

i. Shaik Abdul Hameed of India won the 2014 Thailand Tour title of Asian Bowling Federation (ABF) on 19 April 2014 at Blu-O Rhythm & Bowl Ratchayothinon in Bangkok, Thailand.
ii.  With this Hameed became the first Indian to win the title of ABF. Hameed defeated Mahamood Al Attar of UAE 242-183 in the final.


4.  Anand plays out tame draw with white pieces against Carlsen

i. Defending champion Viswanathan Anand was caught off guard by a surprise opening from Magnus Carlsen of Norway as he played out a tame draw against his challenger with white pieces in the second game of the World Chess Championship in Chennai on Sunday.
ii. World number one Carlsen showed that he was made of sterner stuff and pulled back the attention on himself with an easiest of draws against Anand, who played with his first white in the match.
iii. The first game, in which Anand played with black pieces, was also a drawn affair on Saturday.
iv. The scores are now tied 1-1 after two games and there are 10 more games to go under Classical time control in this Rs 14 crore prize money championship.
v. The local hero agreed that the opening was a surprise for him and even more the variation chosen by Carlsen.
