1. Kolkata Knight Riders beat Rajasthan Royals by 8 wickets
i. Kolkata Knight Riders thrashed Rajasthan Royals by eight wickets at Eden Gardens on Friday to keep their hopes afloat in the Pepsi Indian Premier League.
ii. Earlier Rajasthan won the toss and batted, were easily summed up with three talking points – Kolkata's bowling, Sanju Samson's innings and Rahul Dravid’s decision to keep himself away from the crease till the fourth ball of the final over.
iii. Yusuf Pathan reposed Gautam Gambhir's faith as he finally returned to form with an unbeaten 49 (35 balls; 3x4, 3x6), his highest for the Knight Riders.
iv. Kallis struck Brad Hogg over his head for a boundary to finish the chase as Pathan remained stranded one run shy of a half-century but his coming to form ensured Knight Riders their fourth win from 11 matches.
2. Arun Jaitley launched a book entitled ModiNomics in Delhi
i. Arun Jaitely, a BJP leader on 16 February 2014 unveiled a book entitled ModiNomics: Inclusive Economics, Inclusive Governance at the Indian Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road in New Delhi. The book has been authored by Sameer Kochhar.
ii. The book presents an insight of Modi’s idea of both Inclusive Economics as well as Inclusive Governance.
iii. It also speaks about the vision of Narendra Modi about economic and development strategies. The programme of book launch was skipped by the BJPs Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.

i. The Supreme Court has favoured punishment of life imprisonment to people indulging in production and marketing of adulterated milk and has asked the state governments to make amendment in laws.
ii. A bench of Justices K S Radhakrishnan and A K Sikri yesterday said punishment of six months jail term mentioned in Food Safety Act is grossly inadequate and asked states to amend the law as has been done by the Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Odisha.
iii. The bench was hearing Public-Interest Litigations seeking its direction to state governments to stop practice of milk adulteration which is rampant in various states.
4. Dhoni is 4th fastest batsman to score 8000 runs in ODIs
i. Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni today became the fourth fastest batsman to complete 8,000 runs in one-day cricket during the fifth and final ODI against New Zealand in Wellington.
ii. The 32-year-old reached the milestone in the 26th over of the match. It is a commendable achievement by the wicketkeeper-batsman who comes in lower down the order.
iii. The three men ahead of him in the list are illustrious compatriots Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly and the West Indian legend Brian Lara, all of whom batted in the top three. Dhoni has taken 214 innings to touch t he landmark.
